Afternoon,
Thank you for your input and work. Your report gives me the opportunity to comment on Arbitron. They are an international group serving commercial ration stations. From their web page" Radio stations and radio groups use Arbitron's local and regional radio ratings services to demonstrate the value of their audience to advertisers. Advertising agencies and marketers use Arbitron's radio ratings service to plan more effective radio buys and target consumers more precisely." Having read that I know that the key reason I listen to public radio is to stay away from listening to commercial. Leading me to believe that they use an agency that is not connected to public radio. Another point is that Arbitron do not provide research that measures local listeners group - the kind of audiences that are our concern - groups such as: folk music, afro-pop or Latino. I am bringing this important point because if WFCR is making decision based on invalid information their decision are based on opinions rather than facts. For any decision to be effective the source of information need to bring valid information or at least information that can be validated. Their information base for their decision making process is an important leverage point for our argument, and a powerful point for the need to involve the community in the decision making process.
