Dear Mr. Miller,

I am writing about Valley Folk, not to complain about its demise, though I have plenty to say on that matter.

Many of us in the Valley folk community are concerned about the possibility of the loss of the vast and unique folk music library which, I hope, still exists at your station. It would be a tragedy if this library were broken up or sent out of the area, or given to an organization which would not later be willing to return it. I am sure you would agree that there is the possibility that WFCR might run a folk show sometime in the future. It is also possible that Susan might find a place for her show at another local station. In either event, having to build a library from scratch would strongly diminish the quality of the show.

As one of the people who runs the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society, I have searched for, and very happily have found, a person with the space and the willingness to take this collection on loan, if you would be willing to part with it until such time as it may be needed.

I hope you will give this proposal the serious consideration that I believe it deserves.

Yours truly,
Paul Kaplan
